At Home Buffalo Wings

belal-el-atari-buffalo-wingSince I was a young I have always loved buffalo wings. The spices and sauces were always so addicting for me. Just the smell of a buffalo wing would be enough to make my mouth water. I loved them so much I eventually would make a career out of my passion. After I became the owner and CEO of a local establishment called the Buffalo Wing Factory I knew that buffalo wings would be more than just an appetizer, they would be bigger, more flavorful, and would attract new people. If you love buffalo wings as much as I do, you have probably tried to make your own wings at home. There is a fairly careful process that goes into creating a succulent and delicious homemade wing. Below you will find all the information you’ll need to prepare your very own buffalo wings. Enjoy and feel free to share!

Ingredients:

12 Whole Chicken Wings

3oz Butter

1 Small Glove of Garlic (Minced)

¼ Cup of Hot Sauce

½ Teaspoon Salt

Directions:

If you have a 6qt saucepan with a steamer basket now would be the time to use it. Place 1 inch of water in the bottom, place it on high heat, and bring to boil.

Once you have properly prepared the wings by separating them at the joint, place the wings in the steamer basket, cover, and reduce the heat to medium. You are going to want to steam the wings for about 10 minutes at this heat. After 10 minutes, remove the wings and pat them dry carefully. Place the wings on a sheet lined with paper towels and refrigerate for 1 hour.

After the wings have cooled you should have the over heated to 425 degrees F. Carefully remove the paper towels with parchment paper and spread the wings out on top. Place the pan and wings on the middle rack of your oven and roast for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes open the oven and remove the tray. Flip all the wings to their opposite side and place back in oven for 20 more minutes. The skin of each wing should be golden brown after the 2nd round of roasting.

During the time of the roasting you should melt the butter along with the minced garlic in a small bowl. Combine the butter and garlic mix with the hot sauce  and salt in a big bowl that is large enough to hold all the wings and be able to stir.

Place wings from oven into bowl, toss and stir the sauce around onto each wing. Serve the wings warm and with a side of celery and bleu cheese.
